Hotel policies

Check-in and check-out

Guests check in between 2:30 PM and 8:00 PM and check out between 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM. Arriving outside that window? Let us know your travel plans and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Payments

To confirm a reservation at Ocean Tide Beach Resort, a deposit is required as follows:

  • A non-refundable deposit equal to one (1) night's stay is required at the time of booking to secure the reservation.
  • The remaining balance is due in full sixty (60) days prior to the scheduled arrival date.
  • Reservations made within 60 days of arrival will be charged the full amount at the time of booking.

By submitting payment, you agree to the terms outlined in our cancellation and refund policy below. We accept cash, PayPal, Visa, and Mastercard. American Express carries an additional 2% surcharge.

Cancellation and refund policy

We understand that travel plans change, and we strive to be as accommodating as possible. As a small, independent resort, the following applies to all bookings:

  • Cancellations made 60 days or more before arrival receive a full refund less the non-refundable deposit cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations made less than 60 days before arrival are non-refundable, and the full booking amount will be charged.
  • No-shows, early departures, or reductions in stay after arrival are non-refundable, and the full reservation amount will be charged.

Package bookings and local flights

Our travel packages include round-trip local flights between the mainland and San Pedro. We book and pay the airline for those flights as soon as your package is confirmed, and the airline does not refund them to us.

For that reason, the local flight portion of a package is non-refundable once ticketed, no matter when you cancel. This applies even to cancellations made 60 days or more before arrival, where the rest of the booking would otherwise be refundable. Every other part of your package follows the cancellation policy above.

If your dates change, tell us as early as you can. We will do our best to have the airline move your flights to the new dates rather than lose them, though we cannot guarantee it, and any airline change fee is passed on at cost.

Force majeure / acts of God

No refunds, credits, or transfers are provided for portions of hotel stays or activities missed or unused due to events beyond our control: including inclement weather, natural disasters (hurricanes, flooding, earthquakes), government-mandated restrictions, pandemics, airline disruptions, or other force majeure events.

This includes naturally occurring environmental conditions such as sargassum seaweed washing ashore: a seasonal, unpredictable event common throughout the Caribbean. While we make every effort to maintain our beachfront, the presence of sargassum is beyond our control and does not warrant a refund or credit.

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to protect against unexpected interruptions or changes to your travel plans.
