Depending on the day, your guide may take you to the renowned Hol Chan Marine Reserve, the peaceful shallows of Mexico Rocks, or local gems only the guides know. Don’t be surprised if a sea turtle or a gentle nurse shark cruises by. Belize’s marine life loves to show off.
The Belize Barrier Reef, the second largest on the planet, sits just offshore from San Pedro, and snorkeling it is the single most popular thing travelers do on Ambergris Caye.
